A Family
He came to our open arms when he was an infant. Moses arrived at the Hohidiai Children’s Home same time as two other boys and they were the same age. These three grew up together and were inseparable. If you saw one, you knew that the others were close. Moses was the quiet one in this trio. He watched and was more thoughtful than the other two who would jump in and ask questions later.
Moses went thru a challenging time last year. A Hohidiai staff family wanted to adopt him last year. He struggled with it and started acting out in class. He did not want to leave his two buddies. They were bonded since birth and he did not want to be separated from them. It is easy to understand his unwillingness to leave his friends. He was in grade one but was struggling. It was clear he was not going to respond well to the change. The idea of him being adopted was dropped.
The staff at Hohidiai know that a home setting would be better for him but they do not want to pressure him. Recently, another family were interested in offering Moses a family. Moses was asked if he would be interested in joining this family. He was initially not interested. After some time of consideration Moses agreed to give this family a chance. He now is now a part of a loving family. You can see the joy on his face. The anxiety is gone and a big smile has replaced his doubts. He has a father, mother and little brother–that is a family. This is the hope we have for all of our children that they would be loved and brought into the care of a good home. Moses is changing a day at a time and it was so good to see his growing confidence.
