15
This month, is the 15th year of IFC. Those years have gone by fast–with many great memories and some big challenges as well. The origin of IFC (January 2001) was working in refugee camps near the city of Manado. In 2003, a new door opened to move to North Maluku to set up clinics to serve the families as they went home to rebuild their villages and lives. Since those foundational days there have been thousands of lives helped and even several lives saved. The clinic, hospital, HIV/AIDS, leper, T.B. care have given hope to thousands. During the years we were given 55 little children into our embrace. These little ones have a common denominator–they were unwanted. It has been pure joy to love and give each one of them a future.
There really needs to be a tribute to all the staff and partners over the last 15 years who have invested in the work. The birth of IFC started in refugee camps. The true heroes are those who serve every day–like Peter and Esther Scarborough and the dear Indonesian staff members. A couple thousand volunteers have traveled to the base in Indonesia to give their time and talent. Thousands of others, who could not go, have partnered by prayer and financial support.
This is an effort with so many amazing people involved and invested in changing lives. Thank God for the last 15 years.
